Perfect Crumbed Fish

You Will Need:

  • 8 Hake Fillets (thoroughly thawed)
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1 Tbs Bread Crumbs
  • ½ Cup Self raising Flour
  • 2 Tbs Spice for Fish
  • 1 Tbs Dried Parsley
  • 1 Tbs Crushed Garlic (Dried)
  • Salt & Pepper to taste

500ml Canola Oil (for deep frying)



  • In a heavy pan, heat oil until it’s hot
  • In a separate platter/dish mix all the dry ingredients
  • In a bowl, beat the 4 eggs
  • Deep your Hake Fillets into the egg mixture, then into the flour mixture and then into the pan, fry for +- 3minutes on each side, depending on the thickness of the fillet.
  • When the fillets are golden brown, take them out and rest them on a paper towel to absorb excess oil.
  • Serve with your desired sides, ie Potato Chips, Garden Salad, etc
